    Re: Chairman's Rant - October 2019

Yup, and the former chairman of Thomas Cook said folk would never book their own holidays online without going into a high street shop and speaking to a real person.

    Re: Chairman's Rant - October 2019

One of my other hobbies (I only work 8hrs / week so have lots of time for hobbies) is flying microlight aircraft. It's another fairly niche thing. There is a similar issue about trying to drive folk...

    Oi... I'm a turnkey-er.
Infact, you don't really get much less "tinkering in a shed" than moi.

Building your own car is a geeky thing. There's only so many geeks to go round. I think you can...

    Re: Help needed with brakes

I was happy to pay all the money for the carbon ceramics since it should keep the brake dust down.
I guess it should make the car stop better as well but that's a secondary concern.

    Re: Chairman's Rant - October 2019

The thing is tho Norm, that with Ultimas the secret is that it's all perceived value. It costs a lot for the kit because... err... the factory charges a lot for the kit. A factory build car costs an...

Well, remeber THE country is Scotland. There might be a couple of others somewhere but if so, they're not very active on Social Media or FB. The 7 of us are all in the FB group and all in a separate...

    Re: Looking for a Stratos

Not meeting (or driving) your heroes must be a common woe.

Not on the same scale of expense but I found myself in the hunt for either a Ferrari Testarossa or Lamborghini Countach about 15 years...

    Re: Another Hawk for sale...

We both do R22s. I also do R44s, Gyrocopters, as well as Fixedwing and Flexwing microlights (plus the very odd paramotor flight and a bit of hot air ballooning)

    Flexwing is best tho.

    Re: Another Hawk for sale...

It costs the same to fly them even if you are crapping yourself. Sometimes that’s part of the fun, but you only realise that when you’re back on the ground.

Yes, not surprisingly there’s been a...

    Re: Garage Day Buxton Derbyshire

A bit far for me to go without a car, so maybe next year, but as an aside, we had a fabulous long weekend around Buxton and Bakewell last year. Lovely place.

    Re: Northern Drive-Out - Sat 10th August 2019

I've no other plans for the weekend so, if the weather forecast changes, I might jump in something suitable for a car run (Japanese, but still suitable) and pop down to Kielder.

    Re: Swiss Hawk for Sale
