  2. Re: AGM, Stoneleigh, 28th August - Who's Going?

I had a gander at the steel monocoque, and it’s a lovely thing indeed. Not sure I understand the target audience though, but then I guess I wouldn’t!

    Re: Hydrogen verses Electric

Indeed, just making the point that they aren’t pollution free at the point of use unless operated properly…and as we know, no plant operator ever has skimped on servicing etc…

    Very lean isn’t...

    Re: Hydrogen verses Electric

Until there is a very significant investment into the generation of green H2, burning it in an ICE is way worse than using the oil directly, apart from local air pollution (which can be mitigated)....

    Re: 3D Printers - Recommendations

To actually answer the original question without the tedium of talking to me:

I have an Ender 3. In it’s original form it worked pretty well. The mods I’d consider highly desirble are an all-metal...

Re: 12 and 16 row fuse boxes

I get the desire for originality…but these bloody things are probably responsible for the reputation of Italian car electrics! :)

Re: LB Stratos on Late Brake Show

Tomorrows LBS offering is Johnny driving the LB in question. Not sure what time it’ll go online though. Anyone that keen can always set an alert on YT :)

Re: LB Stratos on Late Brake Show

I should clarify, given how these topics have a habit of ‘expanding’, I’m not trying to imply that one is better than the other in any absolute fashion. They are different things.

    A person can...

Re: LB Stratos on Late Brake Show

Have to assume he’s driven at least a few and didn’t like them I’d think. Given his collection, I can’t imagine his first port of call for anything that took his fancy would have been a replica.

Re: LB Stratos on Late Brake Show

What struck me most was that a bloke that could clearly afford to have a Lancia Strato’s chose to have an LB STR, and a bloke with some pretty impressive cars in his collection. Loved the way he...

Re: E10 (Ethanol 10) Petrol is coming

Sadly I only did A level chemistry so the list of ingredients in the VSP means little to me, but I can’t help being curious about how a product at a 100:1 ratio can render the ethanol content...

    Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice……

@ducatiman. A complicated question! I bought one of the cheapest out there. Available now for way under 200 and much improved over when I bought it....

    Re: Ultimate replica

The originals were homolgation specials, not kit cars. They were indeed ‘bitsas’ in many ways of course, but then lots of cars are.

A decent replica is a decent replica and should be recognised...

Re: E10 (Ethanol 10) Petrol is coming

It’s about 20p/l for the treatment. Premium isn’t that much more is it? Less hassle too. I suppose one could alternate between additive and premium. It would probably be worth putting some additive...

Re: E10 (Ethanol 10) Petrol is coming

I intend using premium fuel from now on to limit exposure to Ethanol. I’m pretty sure most of the components in the two kits are OK with E10 except the aluminium tank and fuel rail in the Westfield.

    Re: Ultimate replica

For the obsessed, surely the only acceptable goal is a genuine car, no? Anything else, including the no doubt accurate latest offering from Gerry is still ‘just’ a replica, no matter how faithful it...

    Re: Ferrero Steering wheel...how much!!?

Price seems entirely sensible assuming you think the car on the adjacent thread is sensibly priced.....

A wheel nut must be worth at least 1k, surely??

Re: Jeep Grand Cherokee for sale

I knew my hi-pressure sales tactics would pay off -Jeep now sold. I hope it's as good to the new owner as it has been to me.

  21. Re: Will demand for UK cars in the EU drop off a cliff?

Someone from Bulgaria was looking at my Jeep and he reckoned that having consulted his customs people, charges & tax would double the price. I’m only asking 3500 so have no idea if that would apply...

Re: What's your kit car owning history?

All modest stuff for me, as befits my low-rent background!

Started in 1990 with a crappy Cobra kit. I naively thought I could turn a sows ear into a silk purse by using good bits. I was wrong -...
