Re: LB go above and beyond the call of duty

I’ll see if next time I break down I can get him down to NZ! Wonder what his rate per kilometre is?

Re: Operation Fit In An LB

You could do what I’ve just done this weekend, pick up some sort of gastro bug. Bang, two kilo’s gone just like that! And all you have to do is sit around all weekend with your pants down.

Re: Another one hits the road !

Fantastic Peter, congratulations, the car looks great. My indicators haven’t self canceled for a while now, (only just) heard the pin fall out on a drive one day. I’ll sort it one day.

Re: Swindon Race Engines - 24 valve

Yeah all good thanks. Just needs the new clam and radiator now, and a couple of aluminium panels remade under the nose. Just a shame it's going to be sitting around over our summer.

Re: Swindon Race Engines - 24 valve

I feel your pain. I might’ve bent my Stratos a little. New front clamshell leaving the UK late December, due downunder in February. Back on the road soon after. Don’t ask!! Just don’t touch...

There’s nothing I want more than to see Norm’s full frontal. I’m just trying to picture where the staples will go.

    Re: Alfa 159 V6

The Toyota v6 is in a lot of models down here, and would be easy and cheap to source. I think the manual box to suit might be tricky to find here.

I think the v6 twin turbo from the Giulia is...

Re: LB Stratos on Late Brake Show

That’s pretty special recognition for LB Specialist Cars, once the order books open again they’ll be overflowing! Quite good to hear the impressions of someone like Johnny that’s driven a lot of...

    Re: Ultimate replica

The ultimate Stratos is the one that’s in your garage. I wouldn’t have mine any other way, I built it the way I wanted it. :D

    Re: 2020 mileage?

Since January last year I’ve done just on 8000 kms. With the only costs being petrol and oil. I’be just taken it off the road for winter to change the gearbox and cambelt, not really necessary...

Excellent Peter, you’re really lucky to be able to get your car back to the mother ship so easily. I’m scared to do over 30 in mine, being aware of my own abilities!

    Re: clamshell catches

Yeah, I used a 1/8 punch, the swage/flare just folded up and the pin fell out. I used a tapered centre punch to re-flare it when I put it back in. Still ok a few years later.

Re: New Stratos Manufacturer in USA..

If you search for Casey Putsch on instagram you’ll see more photos. The body is going to be mostly metal, so it just might need that monster engine to push it along.

That’s the car I saw here when my kit was on the water back in 2013. It had 4500km on it. It’s well travelled, it was in the States for a while.
