Re: Tarmac Rally Stratos Build begins

I think Neil Turbonutter was the first on here to fit the Audi coils to the Alfa V6 as far back in 2014. STR Strat followed suit on his first build shortly afterwards.
    In both cases they used...

A bargain I think...especially when the asking price for a gearbox seems to be north of 500 these days

    Re: Pirelli Hawk for Sale

I think that is exactly the point,
It is at the buyers discretion as to what amount of money they wish to spend on the car of their choosing.
Everyone will have a limit as to what they would want...

Looking at eBay the listing for the Hawk has currently ended and the item is no longer available.

    Re: Pirelli Hawk for Sale

The only correlation with the pricing of the eBay car and an LB is that the eBay seller contacted LB anonymously 4 months ago as a potential buyer to ask what the cost of a factory built car was, he...
  11. Re: Alfa 12v main bearings caps for crankshaft.

I would suggest you speak to AH Motorsport. He appears to have a nice range of upgrade parts for both 12v and 24v.

Can I ask what you have done to the 12v to gain the extra 50Hp? Reprofiled cams,...

    Re: Litton Corse

I'm fairly sure that the Litton and the CAE ran 7" front and 8" rear as standard in both S and I guises. 15" in the Litton S days and 16" in the CAE I days

    Re: Litton Corse

Correct and I do understand the logic behind it.
Way back in 1988 or so coffin spoke wheels weren't available so without those around to dictate the geometry then Mr Greenwood opted for a wheel...

    Re: Litton Corse

The I has cast alloy uprights front and rear, the ones which were developed by STATUS (Manchester Uni).
These used Ford Granada Scorpio bearings and flanges which were 5 x 112 PCD
    Both S & I...
  15. Re: Wanted- Project or finished car! Anything considered!

THIS would appear to be the most viable option which is advertised currently?
Obviously it needs work but if you have the time and patience to see it through it is a good starting point.

Re: Ever heard a V12 at 12,100 revs!

It only revs to 9200rpm but the V12 from the new Pagani Huayra R also sounds very impressive. See HERE
Technologically the GMA T50 is unquestionably impressive but for me the styling is lacking...

Re: Litton Corse weights for IVA test

I'm actually surprised they didn't ask you to raise those figure Paul given the actual weight of the car and the fact that it has two seats and a boot space.
Obviously not an issue for you as you...

    Re: Show us your exhaust!

The issue Patriq is that the Alfa has a completely different bore to stroke ratio when compared to the Dino engine. The Alfa's have a longer stroke and probably milder cams.
    Even the 2.5 Alfa...

    Re: Another Stratos project

I think the Alfa engine has a much "bigger & deeper" sound than the Dino engine due to is longer stroke.
Even with the Gp4 silencers fitted then there is a fair amount of exhaust noise, adding...

    Re: Pirelli Hawk for Sale

I was merely quoting his newest listing rather than trying to make a point.
I'm clearly not the person to ask about pricing as this already double what I'd have thought for the spec.
    It looks tidy...

    Re: Pirelli Hawk for Sale

Yes, but it is 99.9% authentic and originals are 500k plus......
What would it cost to build a GTO tech or Marchesi based steel tub car with an actual Dino engine? 120k plus?

    Re: Restomods vs. Replicas

Because it was launched, conceived and marketed primarily as a kit in the early days. The turn key side of the market was just a small percentage of the sales back then.
As the kits have evolved and...
