I'd imagine there are very small gains to be had given it’s aluminium. The crank, flywheel, cams and pulleys are by far the heaviest parts I think.

Re: How is the Virus affecting you?

At the risk of thread drift, this exact scenario was “gamed” 3 years ago and the predicted outcome has indeed come to pass. So, can you imagine any government getting support for the measures said...

  4. Re: STR in Banbury for Historic Monte Carlo passage control

That’s the nicest Martini interpretation I’ve seen on a Stratos. Works so well with the shape.

Thanks to the kindness of strangers (@Strat Fan & Neil63) I now have spares for these things, plus a few more too - thank you very much chaps, very much appreciated.

  8. CF2 166 instrument cluster, large green 'check unit' box

Bit of a long shot. Anyone out there having scrapped a CF2 166, would you have the instrument cluster and/or the large green 'check unit' that lurks under the dash?

    Re: 3D reproduction

That doesn’t look like it would work in plastic.....particularly as it failed in metal!

    Re: Alfa 166 Donor

It’ll be a CF3 engine with the ECU bolted to the plenum. Really quite different to the 164 vintage engine.

Nice to see the car getting some use. It was too much of a garage queen when I had it.

Should we have a coordinated biscuit list so we each bring the right contribution? Hate to end up with 50kg of Rich Tea biscuits and no chocky hob-nobs.

    Re: 037 Recreation

For some reason, it tickled me when I spotted the X 2/0 designation on the back of the instrument cluster on my old Monte. Probably a clue in that.
