    Re: Targa catch refurb kits

Don't know about torsion rates but when I made mine I used 1mm piano wire coiled to the same dimensions as the originals (7 coils, 10mm O/D, 8mm I/D). The load on the catch felt very similar once...

    Re: Chairman's Rant - October 2019

I was a "turn-key purchaser" but down to lack of free time, not lack of ability (professional mechanical engineer in aerospace and defence industry) so I really enjoy reading the technical...
  3. Re: Original Stradale coming up for Auction at Bonhams.

Connected to battery isolator to use as external engine kill pull cable ? Car has a few "competition" mods by the looks of it

    Re: Stratosferica

Headlight modification is an improvement over the standard 4C (not difficult), but I'm not a fan of the "letter box" opening in the front air dam
  9. Re: Stratos Blueprints - Black Art Graphics Group buy?

Stradale or Group 4 (round or square)?

    Re: One-Day Drive Out - Sun 30th Sept 2018

Sounds like the sort of run I would like to join sometime but at the moment I struggle to plan more than about 3 days in advance.

    Re: Project Binky

Yep, I'm watching it - considering trying the autowipers solution from the previous episode. I also follow the build of Gordon Murray's mkI Escort. It may not be as funny but the episodes come around...

    Re: Electric power steering

Following this thread with interest. I've picked up a Corsa B EPS column "just in case" I decide to go down that route at some point in the future - certainly prices were steadily rising and...

Re: Silverstone Classic 20-21-22 July 2018

There was what looked to be an authentic Red Stradale parked on the pavement by the side of the road behind the international pit. Hopefully it's here all weekend.

Re: Silverstone Classic 20-21-22 July 2018

I'm still attending but won't be in my LB STR. Had a couple of last minute gremlins that I haven't been able to sort and properly test, so decided not to risk it.

Re: Fiat Stub Axle Safety Washers

I hadn't spotted the part numbers were different - got too focused on the shape.
If anyone needs some spares from an old Chinese space lab, they may be in luck very soon.

Re: There is a Stratos underneath this!

Serious problem with "over spray" - probably should have spent a bit more time masking it off I reckon :D
  21. Re: Clamsheĺl overcentre catches/X1/9 Targa top fasteners.

I made my own using piano wire. I was very pleased with the result and it's a useful skill to have. First couple were a bit ropey but after that they look pretty perfect.
  22. Re: Hello Everyone, Potential new owner in ?Nottingham / Daventry

ah, the joy of hauling the battery up through the narrow "tunnel" of wiring and plumbing - I remember it well (and still have the scars)

Dan, have you watched the Autocar video on youtube of Steve...

    Re: on - off switches

They look like the buttons from an arcade game, but obviously arcade buttons don't latch (kinda slows down your rapid firing).
Do you know the dimensions of the press button ? I think the arcade...
