Re: NOS Boot Lock and OE Clip

Thanks both. I tried silver solder as well as brazing rod - both the same problem. components red hot but they don't liquify / flow into the joint, maybe I need more flux.

    Re: Help needed

I made some notes when I was doing it to save on the swearbox if I ever had to do it again. I can't guarantee that I've not omitted something, but it looks feasible!

Re: NOS Boot Lock and OE Clip

Well I still haven't brazed anything successfully. Melted the brass key and failed to get anything to stick to the washer nor get the brazing rod to liquify.

    Alfa Romeo 164 wheel spacers

The 164 came with steel 3mm spacers, with the 5 x 98 pcd holes and 58.1mm centre bore. Does anybody have a pair? Aftermarket ones have larger centre bore holes and the spigots fall through.

I too have single-handedly removed the gearbox from a Hawk to change the clutch. Being more sophisticated, I used a trolley jack to support the engine. Engine crane took the weight of the gearbox and...

Jeez! How to lose friends! I feel your pain, but can't offer any suggestions - I can see the logic of Guy's theory of the flap that covers the slot.
