Normally, I'd be interested as I live in London. But, the front clam of my car has developed an unsightly stress fracture around the nearside headlamp. So, until I can get the money together to sort that out, I don't think she's up for displaying.
Hi,
Just booked a ticket to display my car at this event.
Anybody else coming?
Tom.

2010 event was great, lots of interest in the car, in the main spectator area.
2011 it was very them and us. We were shut away with other car clubs (tatty minis and the like) in a remote wooded grass area, nowhere near the posh cars and racers.
Hardly any of the public knew we were there. Would have left early, if we could.
It seemed just a waste of time, although the weather did not help. The chap in his World Cup Escort was a bit fed up too...
I don't think I would go back....

I might be available for Chelsea. I was planning on being on holiday in the UK for the better part of September 1-16 anyway, so I could probably attend, although I expect I'd be somewhat jetlagged. The Donnington kit car show http://www.doningtonkitcarshow.com/index.html is also scheduled that weekend - I may go to whichever event the majority gets behind.
Hi,
Sorry to hear you got parked out of sight Struan.
My seven year old boy is wanting to attend an event in our car so thought we would give this a try as its not too far from us. Will be meeting some of my customers there with their cars as well so bit of a work day too.
Will report back after the event with where we get parked.
Tom
Were they happy to have your car(s) along, as replicas?
Bit awkward for me to get out that weekend, for Donington or Chelsea, but might like to try and do one of them
There was no problem with my car being a replica, although the organisers gave me a display plate stating it was a Lancia Stratos.
To be honest, loads of cars at Chelsea are fakes/replicas/re-creations/kit cars.
The James Dean Porsche was a kit car.
All of the 'Le Mans' GT40s were kit cars.
All of the Cobras were kit cars.
The P4 Ferrari was a Foreman P4.
The very nice 'D' type Le Mans Jaguar parked next to us was not worth £1M, but was a £100,000 re-creation.
Caterhams, Westfields, Robin Hoods arguably, Lotus 7 re-creations....
Everywhere you looked cars were re-shelled, re-creations of earlier models.
You can get into an interesting philosophical discussion. If someone has re-built their MG with a heritage bodyshell, uprating and improving, engine, brakes, suspension, interior trim, there's not much left of the original car.
Is it still an MG....?!
They do get some nice cars though, plenty of Ferraris, Porsches, racing machinery.

Thanks for comments, so replica status not an issue there.
Not at all sure I can get out that weekend in the first place, but would like to get to this, or maybe Donington.
Mind you, no-one declared them as replicas.....
