Beautiful weather, some fantastic cars, relaxed atmosphere, but unfortunately the parking arrangements for the exhibit cars was dreadful, Vince Sando and I were all split up and parked on some wasteland most of the way up the Byfleet banking, meanwhile a rusty Mk 4 Cortina 1.6 GL was parked in the middle of the central display area. Eventually Vince and I declared UDI and brought the cars down into the sunshine and parked outside the Vickers hanger, there was a queue of people (quite rightly) to take photos of Vince's car, and Matt Higdon also found us and had a long chat about his car recently completing its IVA procedure.
Found another of Abarths blind alleys (X1/9 Prototype) during my wander round, this apparently was a FIAT idea to replace the Stratos instead of the 131, but it just wasn't quick enough, with a 2 Litre Beta engine admidships.
Ken, how is the car? Vince said you had done a driveshaft on way to Brooklands on Sunday morning.
