Where to get OEM parts for the alfa 164

Since we don't have any Alfa dealerships here in the states, I have not been able to check oem parts availability ....but are the folks in the UK able to pick up bits and pieces for the 164 at their local dealer? I have been cleaning up my 24v trans and engine and finding misc. electrical senders, plastic bits, and rubber boots, that have given up the ghost. They are really odd items in my mind that most aftermarket alfa parts places here would not carry. Anyone have luck finding oddball stuff at the dealer, or are we forced to go for limited aftermarket or used up old stuff? Thanks

Alfa Romeo themselves do distribute parts through a US based entity in Florida. Site isn't very user friendly, but they'll often have obscure parts that aren't worthwhile for the other vendors to carry. Usually not cheap either, but can surprise in either direction.

I'll second strat24v's recommendation for alfissimo - lots of parts and great customer service.

If you're on not there already alfabb.com is the go-to resource - lots of good advice there. Here's a fairly comprehensive vendor list that been build out over the years:

Also on the 164 section of alfabb forum, you'll find a few people on there that have a supply of parts cars that'll they'll usually be happy to look for what you want off those

Alfissimo was able to get me some new rubber bits for the 164 trans. I was surprised that alfa still makes some of these odd bits. However, now I need a more hard to find part - the manual speedo sender. Does not seem like anybody has these because they are out of production. I was told I will also need some sort of convertor to take the signal from digital to mechanical so that I can use the 124 gauges. That little area on the transmission is getting expensive.

Just unscrew the electronic sender and a Fiat speedo cable will screw in directly. I used an X1/9 cable which was just correct length to reach my Fiat 124 speedo

Just as Paul says! That's a cheap and easy solution and you should also find that the speedo remains pretty accurate! Just hope that you haven't got one of the US speedos that only reads to 85mph! Let us know if you need a more realistic 140mph one!
