Lettering is easily removed with a bit of light sandpaper and the surface repolished with T Cut.

Here as well.
They're all the same, pop the red perspex out of the lamp body, get a sheet of glass and put some fine grade wet and dry sandpaper on it and rub the perspex over it until the lettering and top surface is gone. Then use a polishing cloth on the surface of the glass, soaked in "T Cut" (or similar) and rub the perspex on this until the surface is smooth and shiny again.
If you want the original light unit it came from an early '70s Fiat 126, the handbrake warning light, which didn't have any markings on it at all. But it's the same mouldings and colour plastic as you get with these Fiat 124 Spider warning lights. Easy to find on eBay.com

They'll do, but I found the shade of red is too dark.
