We recently had the annoying misfortune of a flat tyre due to a pothole( another story)but our car didn’t even have one of those inflation kits, let alone a spare tyre. Which was even more annoying!

Obviously not many MPs or Government Officials have found themselves with a flat tyre on a remote country road in the dark, with no mobile phone coverage, no houses nearby and no spare in the boot!
We feel very strongly about this and if you are in agreement, please could you sign the epetition that we found was already on the go? And maybe forward this email to other motorists?

“This petition calls upon the UK government to introduce legislation to compel car manufacturers to provide a spare wheel and tyre, with appropriate storage, in all new cars sold in the UK. Ideally, provision should be made for a full size spare with the same speed rating as the standard wheel and tyre, though the option of a space saver wheel and tyre may be permitted as an interim measure”
