Here's a donor in Germany Chris, engine damaged, doesn't know what's wrong, no bumpers, underside is solid but windscreen frame needs work. 6 hours from Calais.

Or another one that looks too nice to convert?

Standard early cars are so much nicer aren't they. 'Smaller bumpers, lower engine cover.... 'Like the Cromodoras with chrome caps too.

They are Chris! if it's still for sale in September why not pop down to Rally Legends and pick it up on the way home?

It's always the same isn't it?
You could put together quite a big list of car models, where the earliest have the best aesthetics, while the later versions have the stronger running gear, and hopefully, better build quality?

Mmmm. Beta HPE, first one, a 1978 car with mustard interior and chrome door mirrors vs two later HPE VX's.

The first car had by far the best bodywork but the VX was the quicker car by a long way. Money no object I'd have another one tomorrow so long as I had somewhere dry for a garage! Or maybe two and get Geoff to graft in some Integrale running gear. That would make an interesting Q car!

Made a few generous donations to the distressed Stratos restoration fund, but otherwise not too far gone, sitting in the barn.
    Could be a Prototipo donor....

A couple of photos of the local replicas, they did get their body kits from Guy Mourenhout. They've also built a Dino 206sp replica that wasn't being raced this year, it's very detailed right down to part numbers in castings.

    Re: Green Prototipo

    Thanks Paul,

    'Interesting.

The wheel arches are grp on those. The originals had alloy arches. I notice some variations on the engine covers too.
'Later type 16v (Thema/Integrale) type engine fitted too (carbs and exhaust the opposite way round to a Beta/Monte/124/131 etc.) So they'll be quick?
