If it wasn't the same weekend as the Kit Car Show, I'd suggest the Donington Historic Race Meeting.

Suggest away Chris, thats what this thread is all about finding those spots that could be used but no one ever mentions till its too late.
What about up near you, there must be some local attraction that folk could meet at?
Its not like your short of good driving roads in your area.
These ideas need not be already organised events, don't mind if they are mind, but as we are spread across the country we must have some members who are closer together than others.
Look who lives near the Nottingham area, we may have more Stratos members in that surrounding area than anywhere else in the country.
Eden Camp. That's up near Chris. Malton if I remember correctly.
It's the best war themed museum I've ever been to (as you'd expect from Yorkshire.......). Loads of interest, loads of parking and you get to eat lunch in the Naffi at wartime prices (well, after you've done the exchange rate thing).

Nice one John, never heard of it to be honest but sound like a place i would visit.
Eden Camp about 5 miles from me, well worth a visit. Only a stones throw away from the North Yorkshire Moors with plenty of good roads and scenery. Chris J tried to get an event off the ground last year but it withered away due to a seemly lack off interest and problems with timing of the event.
One location worth heading for is the Ravenhall Hotel at Ravenscar, plenty of parking, with panoramic views over Robin Hoods Bay from the dining room. They do a good carvery on a weekend.

I like a good Sunday roast...but then you can probably tell that!!!
'Think the cost of accommodation was the big problem?
Other venues near to us are:
Yorkshire Air Museum Elvington is a sprint venue. The local residents stopped F1 cars being tested there, but maybe the latest ones are quiet enough now?
National Railway Museum
Craven Collection of Motorcycles
Chris Birkbeck Rally School
Olivers Mount the Yorkshire run would have done several laps, ... it's a public road!
Here's Dicky (Star Trek) Davies with film from the 1975 RAC, which includes God, sorry, Bjorn Waldegard, negotiating the Mere Hairpin on Olivers Mount. Actually that bit of footage includes another venue worth mentioning:
Harewood Hillclimb.
Here's ERIC at said venue:
