Spoke to Ken at Stoneleigh and he was talking about the Ford / Jag Duratech engine............ I know that this would be sacrilege for some however there are loads of them around .....

don't know the technical side of the engine or the physical size but supply is ample

Don't they have the second lightest stock flywheel too John? 'First being the GTA?

Think that's correct. I always thought a 2.5 with 3.0 liners and pistons would be interesting, well over square 2.8

    Hi Tom,
i am not sure if an 24V will fit in an Allora?

i have the 12V in my Allora and to the bulkhead are only 2 cm
and also to the rear frame are only 2 cm space! look pic:
please take the measurements from an 12V and 24V engine.
And it's necessary to but it lower in the engine bay!
otherwise the rear clam did not close! it lies on the inlet manifold!

'Good point Enzo. The Allora rear frame is (somehow??) lower than a Hawk.
The 2.5 alternator will be at the rear, so alternator clearance at the front won't be a problem.
Clearance for the 4 cam head might be though, with the vertical bulkhead.

Tom's rear deck/clam is cut out below the rear louvres too Enzo. So that shouldn't be a problem.
    I think that's the case?
