If the restored wreck/remains of Chequered Flag 'Stratos 2' (Gary Fitz car, Japan - HERE) carries 1637, and that 24v car that was for sale recently in Switzerland (HERE) carries 1716, what chassis number does the ex Lord Mexborough car have?

This car is the ex Lord Mexborough car, and the only surviving CF car. I preferred it with its patina though, and its correct colour scheme with original paint (see HERE). This car (CF3) never carried the black roof version of the CF colour scheme!

It says 'fuel injection' but they look like IDFs to me?

To top it all, there's 5 bar plate in the footwells,.... eesh!

Well I think this is another advert (hot on the heels of that last one which didn't quite "add up" for the chassis and parts....)
attempting to dress something dodgy up as legitimate.
As you say CJ, legitimate car or not, getting rid of the patina which tells us a story is tantamount to sacrilege.
I guess in the Chequered Flag days, whether the car had a dodgy identity or not was not very significant. When you are asking a lot of money for something it IS.
I don't believe that consideration of import duty had anything to do with what chassis number went on that car.
Another case of buyer beware, but in saying that I'd still LOV1(t) if I could afford it!

If that was the Rallysprint held at Donnington Park I will have some old slide's in the loft ..... cos "I was there"..... Tony Pond, Russell Brookes John Watson Nigel Mansell Stig (the one and only) Pentti Arrikala etc etc excellent !
