Was there a prize for the least spectacular getaway.....?
For those of you who can remember the Coy's Historic Festival at Silverstone when it had a rally stage on the Friday evening, Geoff Crabtree had a red Stratos entered driven by himself and Bjorn Waldegaard, unfortunately it was in a sorry state, I particularly remember looking under the dash at the wiring which could only be described as a "rat's nest", I did actually manage to contact Geoff but unfortunately the car had just been sold... but now I spotted it on some Tour Auto 2014 video's..... registration CRE 813M.... a couple listed below but there are more and they show some great cars

Car 271, to which you refer Phil, was listed as entered and driven by Pierre-Alain France. That appears to be a surname rather as well as a nationality.
interesting that it still bears a UK registration.

That's what i thought too John !!...... I remember tracking down contact information for Geoff after I heard that it was for sale..... just tooooooo late...... he told me how much he got for the car and i could have kicked myself !..... he also said he could have sold it 6 or 8 times !
A very brief clip from the Silverstone Rallysprint all those years ago - is this the car?

The penny's dropped.
The yellow car is (this one).
You can see the yellow mirrors. Built by Chris Smith for Geoff Muge.
In 2001 the Stratos club cars got to go round the RallySprint course. Graham Robson commentating, thought they were all genuine cars!
He couldn't get over how many there were.
Wrong! It's 1999
