Well I'm a retired Toolmaker and Plastics manufacturer so I'm fortunate enough be able to do precisely what I choose to do, and when I choose to do it.

I'm qualified in electrical and electronic engineering, and spent 10 years as an antenna engineer. Didn't like that but enjoyed messing about with structures and portable buildings, so about 20 years ago, I set up a small business manufacturing in Asia.

If you want to know more, read the book "Erections in the Far East" , available on Amazon ! (fortunately, I'm not David Rowley)

My job's boring, nondescript and takes but little of my time. However, in my spare time, I volunteer at a psychiatric hospital. On the addiction treatment ward. I've done so for seven years now.Ooh the famous people I've met and worked with in there. None of whom I can name!

I'm a time served electrician at the electricity board who moved through the ranks, to testing engineer, estimator and contracts manager for private companies before setting up my own electrical contracting company 13 years ago. Set up a plumbing department 2 years ago and the company now consists of around 20 staff turning over circa £1.2m a year. We work on all sorts of commercial buildings, schools, hospitals etc. but do do some interesting jobs on bridges too.

That looks nice, if I hadn't just bought myself a new Blackstar practice amp I could be tempted to have a go at one of those..
