    Re: Film Maleficent

Just spotted this thread, yep guilty as charged, it's certainly been an interesting career with some great projects over the years.

Highlight for me was designing and building the Mark IV Male Tank for 'War Horse' plus finally ticking the Star Wars box was a major achievement for me.

Currently working on Bonds new film 'Spectre', designing all the car rigs, so getting to play with some pretty tasty 4 wheel toys at the moment.

Now that the papers have been publishing photos of the latest Bond on set action I can show you what I've been working on for the last few months, I designed these roof pods for the Stunt Drivers to take car of the action whilst DC takes care of the acting.

Fantastic, I wish my day job was as interesting.

I'm guessing the Aston roof wouldn't be able to take those loads without some reinforcement. Were you able to do that and still retain the original interior trim?

    Is it all x-by-wire, steering/throttle/brake?

Did you need to upgrade the engine/suspension or is the performance engineered in the editing suite?

    Re: Film Maleficent

All I can say is that with DC sat in the car with cameras all around him all the interior trim is exactly as you would expect from a production Aston.

No performance limitations, what you'll see on screen is what the cars were capable of, we push the cars far harder than any track or test session a manufacturer would put them through.

I thought maybe you'd need to stiffen up the anti-roll bars etc to cope with the bigger roll moment, but it's impressive if you didn't need to. I look forward to seeing it.
