Were the originals ever that good Chris?

I have seen this one at Race Retro, pre 'totip' stickers.
I noticed the one cut tube on the removable transmission cradle. I'm guessing this is something to do with the Audi box being a different shape to the original ZF?
There's no removable rear bulkhead panel on this one, but that feature has been added to subsequent chassis'.

The photos I've seen on the replica chassis that Martin Kift made had this removable bulkhead panel, and some extra gussets on the rear frame.
I remember John H. said that the Kift chassis was built using an ex works Safari car for reference, so maybe there were some 'Safari' mods? 'Just a guess, nothing more.
Anyhow, 'must be closer to the original than any kit Stratos is?

I have got to admit to never seeing a real one up close and the pictures of the original make the replica look very authentic. I think I have spent to much time with Vince. I saw the Delta they had built at a show a couple of years ago and was very impressed with that.

What do you think is the right price for the car?

That's something that Craig and I were mulling over recently.

The amount of work could very easily justify a £70k price tag.
I tend to look at what else you could buy (invest in) with that amount of money.
A couple of things that spring to mind are the genuine ex works Michelle Mouton Fiat 131 Abarth that Bonhams sold at last year's Revival:

    or a 308 GTB:

Really, not much more than a really nicely finished Stratos kit replica, and only more because there are only one or two of these around to date.
    So,... £50k ish?

If you had to have an 037, and this was the only way to get one, then you might push the boat out a bit?

I am tempted by this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1993-Lanci...item3f4df56283. As an investment probably safer than the 037.

I agree with your thinking Chris. I'd rather have something like that.

Genuine 037s are probably set to to go through the roof, if they're not already heading that way, but values of genuine cars often don't bring any bearing on the values of replicas.

The trouble with an Integrale is that they're too good not to use.

This is the thing isn't it.

A car to use or a car to keep?
One of each, if you can afford it.
