Steve Ellis was out on the Border Motor Club Alan Healy Memorial Stages on the 29th March.

First time this year and an opportunity to try out the new power assistance on the steering which Steve has fitted over the winter in deference to his shoulder surgery which curtailed his season last year.
In atrocious conditions Steve and Matt had mixed fortunes, in the main following their usual pattern of improved times over the second- time stage running.
Steve has sourced 17" rims for the front in the continuing effort to find some front end grip but with the weather the way it was stuck to his known set-up and saved some super soft fronts for next time.
I gather at times he wished he'd had more front end grip as the Armco loomed close on a few occasions. A little bodywork repair will be required resulting from contact with an Astra parked on top of the straw bales and tyres forming a chicane over a blind crest!
Steve was full of praise for marshall's and organizers who stuck with the event in appalling conditions.
