If you have the chassis number, speak to Gerry at Hawk and he may well be able to give you something.
Hi guys,
I'm getting ready to register my Transformer kit in CA after buying it out of TX where it was registered and plated on a Beta vin plate & title. That won't fly here, I bought the car as a rolling chassis and I'll pretty much be starting over from scratch to get a new, fresh CA legal and smog-exempt kit-car vin.
The one thing that CA seems to want is a "Manufacturer's Statement of Origin". I never got any docs with the car - do you guys have similar docs for old Transformer/Hawk kits? I'm guessing that the CA DMV sees mostly Cobras and 550's - so this might slide for being abnormal, but I'd like to come prepared!
Thanks,
Scott

I am not sure this would be available. It certainly is not among the extensive paperwork I got with my Transformer which was built by Courtney Garages. The issue is that in the Uk you use the doner car to get as best age related registration and the art of allocating a chassis number (vin) seemed to be a black art back in the day. I have a chassis number (vin) that relates to a Lancia Beta HPE 2000i.e., and Spyder chassis number indicating an early Transformer car build.
Well, it is a "Manufacturer's Statement of Origin" he needs, and the manufacturer was Transformer (now Hawk) so I am sure they can provide confirmation of where it came from. No point in asking Lancia.....
What does your V5 say your car is Tim?
