What data I have for the ML1.7 just says "Pin 37, Camshaft potion actuator relay - except V6"....not what it actually IS on a V6. Personally never seen EGR on an Alfa V6 but I do know some have had it. You might need to connect a suitable dummy load to stop it throwing a MIL...if you have a MIL. If not you can probably ignore it.
I've used 24V castings on 12V motors so the converse should be fine. May need to add or extend the odd block stud though.
IIRC, the 24V did indeed have a CODE immobiliser, and if you don't have the one that came with the donor ECU, you are facing a problem. They are matched key to CODE ECU, CODE ECU to engine ECU. CODE and engine ECU have a short serial 'conversation' at ignition on and there is no simlpe way to spoof that. Getting the ECU modded may be possible. Try Gus at AlfaTune. No connection and never used him myself, but he gets good reports.
