You would need to be sure what you're getting with this kit:
The rear lamp surrounds and rear louvres are not shown in the photos. These are normally included in the standard kit.
However, there is an alloy rear sloping bulkhead fitted, and door bars too.
If I'm not seeing things, there is also a pair of genuine Lancia Stratos rear hubs fitted.
I doubt they'll be included in the price?!
I'd love to know what "I've decided to build a genuine Grp 4 Stratos" means?!
There must be folk out there who are prepared to put the time in to build a steel tub?
Surely there can't be any genuine shells lying around after the years have gone by. not even damaged ones?
In these days of laser cutting it surely makes it easier to produce a set of components to assemble one from.
Has anyone any pictures of the fabled Gartrac shells?
Or buy a 'GTO tech' tub?
I know one man who built the Gartrac tubs. Originally from Wales, he also worked as a fabricator for Reynard and then Prodrive.
He explained to me how the steel roofs had to made in more than one piece. They had an original tub sat outside the workshop for reference.
This information now added to the advert:
"PLEASE NOTE THIS KIT COMES COMPLETE WITH ALL THE PARTS THAT' HAWK SUPPLY WITH THE KIT.
I will add photos at the weekend of all the parts included in this kit as I have had enquires on what is sold with the bodyshell."
Since photos and info have been added, everything in the photos (if rear uprights and front upright extensions are included, they're not shown) would cost a total of £19,428 new.
So possibly a £4,428 saving, and no wait.
'Might still need fuel tanks, window mechs. front alloy side panels, springs and shocks etc.
Does that original figure include VAT?
Personally, I wouldn't be paying a VAT element on a secondhand sale.
No seller on ebay, business or private, is allowed to quote a non VAT inclusive price. Here:
"Please remember: eBay is primarily a consumer marketplace. Therefore, VAT registered sellers are not permitted to add VAT to the final item price after a buyer has won the item."
You see on the odd occasion someone trying it on, but it's out of order and reportable.
No sale first time round - up for sale starting at £1000 - that's gotta attract some bids?
