Hi Rob
if you can find or measure an old Spring.....then try Entex springs Nottingham...they are manufacturers of all types
cheers

I have a set of catches which I am going to renovate, however the springs are corroded, has anyone found a suitable replacement spring for the catches. I used the originals on the ones on my car so didn't need new springs. Would like this set to be mint hence looking for new springs.
Cheers
Rob

I made my own using piano wire. I was very pleased with the result and it's a useful skill to have. First couple were a bit ropey but after that they look pretty perfect.
I found some in stainless but they costs a bloomin' fortune as I only needed a small number.
I'll see if I can find the info.
If you can dig out the info, Leigh, that would be great. If there's a chance of a group order, I'd be very keen as mine are well past their best!

so would I - mine are looking a bit manky !

Got them from Associated Spring raymond
Part no T038-180-218-R
https://www.assocspring.co.uk/torsio...T038-180-218-R
£4.40 each! If you buy 25 they go down to about £1.70 each.
Needed the end tail trimming and bending over but worked perfectly.
Original on left, new on right
New ones after trim and bend:

Many thanks for that Leigh, Leave it with me they come out at over 2 quid each with VAT and ship, so will buy 25 and cut and bend them so there ready to use and offer them on here as set of 4 for 10 quid, will be 5 sets going. Will update when I have sorted it.
Cheers Rob
