Hi Paul,
It's a long time since I had some of these.
If I remember correctly the whole strut, springs and alloy spring seats were made especially for the Hawk (pre GAZ).
I think the top alloy seat sat on a shoulder? The springs were flat, top and bottom. 'Not as large a diameter as the standard Beta springs.
Dave at Dampertech might be able to help?: http://www.dampertech.co.uk/
Here's what mine looked like:
Hmmm. I had a pair of Leda struts but have gone over to Gaz now. I also converted from the Beta top mounts to the spherical joint ones but I can't recall for certain if the Beta type top mounts transferred over to the spherical top mounts. What makes think they were transferred is that I have just found the old bottom spring pans. I'll have another look at the weekend but I would have expected to find top & bottom mounts together if I had them.
But, if I do have them they'll have quite a wide hole through the centre as the top spring pans for Beta top mounts which are located by a hard plastic protrusion from the base of the Beta top mount. I suspect that's what you've got at the moment Paul? Is it possible to get a spacer machined from a hard polythene block to fill the hole?

'Should look similar to this (Jeff's photo, and probably GAZ):
I've never seen one like that Paul! IF I've got a top mount it'll look more like the one in Chris's posting above. But the hole may be bigger, something like an inch? I'll try to have a look tomorrow night and let you know.
