just got the stratos taxed after being sorned for 4 months, so yesterday thought take it for a run. So with it not been out with it for a few months better check water and oil levels also tyre pressures. Starts car up pulls it onto drive and lets it tick over for 10mins, turn it off and goes into house for something to eat. About an hour later comes back out to car and there's a patch of oil under the car . Looks under and the oil seems to becoming from bellhousing (1 tiny drip clinging to bellhousing ). Lifts the rear clam to have a look from top (see's the cap of the expansion bottle on chassis so puts it back on, obviously not put back on when topped up water). No more oil dripping, takes it for a run no more oil leaking. Just checked this morning no oil leak (level ok) . It's as though something has wanted me to look under the rear clam and put the expansion bottle cap back on.

Oil leak from a dry crankshaft oil seal?? Main thing is that it stopped.

If you haddnt checked the cap would have been lost and you coluld have overheated the engine......
