    Yes - thanks Chris for the tip. I'm currently working on a similar idea and have mocked something up in ally (but not the final version). I'll try and post something about it in due course.

    .... so would be a good idea to have some soft rubber on top of the catch. That might prevent a break?

    Further to this earlier post Chris J was able to supply me with a Fiat X19 retaining clip (26mm jaw width) and I can report that it fits the lock perfectly. The lock is now in place in the bootlid and working well.

    'Glad the clip worked Peter.
    I've got 2 more spare.

    It would be more difficult to make a metal part for the other type of glove box (boot) lock.

    Here's guide for the B pillar and door sticker positions:

    Thanks Chris - so a good boot lock solution seems to be Lancia Beta glove box lock with an X19 26mm retaining clip (if the Beta one isnt available)

    Many thanks for the position guide for the stickers - a great help. It'll be a while before I apply them as I want to give the car a good polish before stickering up !

    i used a vw lock on mine. Not original I know, but cheap, easy to get and has a nut(not me!)
