    Engine block lightening

    Hi.

Just stumbled across this and wondered if anyone had any experience or comments
    http://www.bakerengineeringinc.com/N...WEIGHT-ENGINES

I would be interested to know what you could get out of an Alfa block.

I am assuming there is less need the more modern the engine due to casting quality and FEA to reduce costs and material use.

    Sach

I'd imagine there are very small gains to be had given it’s aluminium. The crank, flywheel, cams and pulleys are by far the heaviest parts I think.

Well you're not alone there.... and not just looking at cars either.

No, you lot, I meant BIKES as well. The ones with engines in them!! You filthy-minded perverts, to even think it'd be anything else.
