I think these are as per the American market originals for the X1/9 etc., but no doubt Chris will confirm this. I finished up with a set from Bielstein after I rejected the set of originals that I had acquired as not being good enough to use. They operate in the same manner as the originals.

I have just ordered a set as my passenger side one is a bit worn. Contacted last night re postage to UK and got a response this morning.
I’ll update once I receive them
I've got Bielstein handles on my car - they are a good quality OEM match.
It's a while ago now but I think my set of "reproduction" door handles were the type where the pivoting bit of the handle didn't pivot, you had to manually push the square bit. If I remember correctly there was an extra "lump" on the plastic case that prevented the handle from pivoting. I removed the extra plastic lumps as I wanted the handles to work using the pivot mechanism.
Thought I'd discussed it on the forum but can't find the post.
Cheers, Graham
Ordered on the 6th and just arrived so that’s very good service. The set cost under £200 including post an the new import duty. (The seller netted the duty off the purchase and post price which came out at £162) Duty charged by DHL @c£37.
Quality looks very good and the mechanism feels robust.
Graham you are correct they operate as push button with the lever having a lug stopping it operating which needs a cut with a dremal disc I suspect as the handle has the metal pivot pin installed and the square lock section has the shoulder on the back for the lever to actuate against. As my driver side is brand new I will try modifying the one I’ve just received and let you all know. Hopefully makes sense. The twin bonnet release operates as normal. In summary all I reckon these are a bargain but need to fit before final comment.
Interesting ! - I bought the chrome finish handles and they didnt have this plastic lug - even though they use the plastic shells - however I think mine were about £240 quid all in.
