    It's an X1/9 tub Kenny.

I was seriously thinking of doing the same, until I started gathering secondhand Hawk suspension parts.
You'd need to widen the X1/9 track somehow. Either shifting the pick up points or having wider track suspension.
The wheelbase is very close (slightly longer, but not much).
The front strut tops fit under the front panel (it seems?) but I figured only just.

If you look, you can see the X1/9 factory stiffening swages on the front inner wing, as well as the (wiring?) hole(s) on the side of the headlamp boxes.
The Stratos panels look like they are made by eye? (no moulds?)

Interesting project. I wonder how close it will be in appearance to an original ? If it's not close it will look a complete dog's dinner. (good detective work Chris)

    Re: Popped up on Facebook

The rear clip is the most visible panel on the facebook post, looks to me like they've made a buck themselves rather than mould of anything else out there? There are differences to Lancia/Hawk/LB as far as I can see but it's a way better attempt than anything I'm capable of in my own garage. Without a kit from Hawk! As Chris says, it's a slightly longer wheelbase on the X1/9 so something is going to look slightly odd somewhere to our eyes, probably get lost in the A pillar area so look for a slightly longer door or section on the front clip behind the wheel? Going to follow this one with interest to see what they manage to make of it. I wonder if the use of an X1/9 "chassis" would obviate the need for an IVA test?
There is a precedent for a Stratos replica on an X1/9 chassis too. I'm pretty sure that's what Andy Saunders used on his Stratos Zero car?

    Re: Popped up on Facebook

A few years ago I overlaid drawings of both at equal sizes, to see how it pans out (see below, inc. Graham Halstead drawing in blue)
The steering rack is behind the front axle line on an X1/9, rather than in front, like a Stratos.
Montes have a much closer track to a Stratos, and the front of the rear suspension pick ups are on a removable bar.
I asked Mick Covill if he had any of the parts that get cut off Monte tubs before they're made into his 037 replicas. There were none at that time.
