Agreed with you Tim, I dismantled the unit for refurbishing and replacing new parts like the Quaife!
Box was fine I think but was high miles so decided to pull it apart to check eveything, replace the breaing and fit the quiafe. I then went a step futher and had the casing powder coated to keep it looking nice!

Talking about mucky gearboxes is, in this instance, fine, as Frederic did post pics of his not-so-oily bits and that generated a slight side-topic. Leigh, I can imagine you shuddering and having to have a lie-down at the mere thought of that box going into your car in such a state
Just to avoid any doubt, I'm not looking to slap any wrists or get heavy - it is, as I said, just a gentle reminder. It's easy to get diverted (I know, I've done it...) but whatever you post should have some sort of relevance to the thread.
