    5-lug wheel options?

My Transformer replica (Stradale) uses 4x98 PCD hubs, and has been running on 8x15 5-spoke Compomotives. I'd like to switch to 5-lug hubs with coffin spoke wheels, but expect it will take some time to find a suitable set.

In the meantime, as I switch to 5-lug hubs, are there any specific wheels that you can recommend as a not-completely-ugly stop-gap measure?

I had 8x15 genuine Minilites on 5 stud fitting on a Hawk:

    I have 7 x 15 Minilites and 8 x 15 Revolution Classic 5-spokes.
Different makes have different clearances which might be a problem with calipers depending on the offset you use.

Have you tried calling Gerry to see if he's got any wheels in stock? I can't recall the last time I saw anyone selling a set of coffin spokes. He tends to have them made in large batches to order so he doesn't have to fund the stock for long. You may be lucky at catch him at a time where he had to buy excess stock and is keen to move them on? Also, he may have excess stock in 108pcd which may be any an option if you haven't sourced any hubs yet?

Thanks all. Haven't started calling around yet, although I found the big thread here with lots of discussion of the various coffin spoke replicas. Seems the Hawk replicas are good and affordable, but heavy. For a Stradale that is never raced, that's probably OK. Haven't called Gerry yet. But I did see that LB is still closed to new orders, so that option's out.

The Minilites look surprisingly good. I wouldn't have expected it, but I suppose it's some dim memory about them being period-correct.

As for clearances/etc, I'm rather naive on what's what, and the car is currently in a lock-up several miles away. I am sending the car to Keith Waite for recommissioning, so I'll ask him to double-check brake disks size, calipers, clearance, etc - before committing.

LB order book is only closed for kits at the moment I think. Parts are a different kettle of fish and Craig will let you know if his wheels will clear your current brake set up but unless you're already running 16 inch wheels then I can't see any issues with the 15 inch ones from Gerry fouling anything. You might need to check when offsets with Craig, be sure he know's you've got a Transformer!

    Thanks for the thought Guy,
However LB haven't any wheels in stock currently and as a knock on effect of global issues eg Covid & Brexit we won't be ordering again until the new year.

As an alternative to the coffin spokes then the Minilites get my vote as a cost effective & viable alternative.

For the record LB & Hawk offsets are very similar, its the Corse that is notably different.
Hawk and LB wheels offer good caliper clearance, the Marvic's & Roin's are a bit tighter for clearance as they are more specific to the original Strato's brake calipers.
