    Re: Insurance

Hope you're feeling better soon Kenny! I'm with Hagerty, renewal was ?360 odd but I updated the value to ?60k and it hit ?575. I've renewed but might shop around next year. I have heard others say Hagerty won't insure every car, some recent registrations might not be considered classics yet!

Adrian Flux charged me ?281 this year for ?50k cover. Probably need to up that.

I'm under ?255 for an agreed value of ?130k with Footman James and 3k miles
They seemed pretty clued up about these type of cars.
Might need to up the valuation when the renewal comes round and, by the looks of it, lower the miles.

Jim, you are lucky. From my enquiries as to why quotations are somewhat expensive for my location, your postcode I am told is classed as one of the lowest risk areas in the land, and therefore premiums are somewhat less.

I would echo Steve's comment. My insurance is up for renewal and I've got an opportunity to save 50 quid by making a switch from Classic Line to Footman James - with the exact same underwriter as before - Ageas . (quote was ?368)

    Re: Insurance

Just had a quote form Footman James

Me and the OH as drivers
?90k value (not sure if I need more or less on that)
    SDP and Commuting
    Legal cover

    Total of 388 quid.

    Breakdown:
    12 month policy = 281
    Commuting addition = 40
    Legal cover = 30
    Agreed value = 12
    FJ's arrangement fee = 25

Not bad. Renewal from Classic Line was 571 quid with a 70k agreed value, only me driving and no commuting.

    Have a word with yourself.
Even simply valuing your time for building it that must come in at less than one pound per hour!!
