Thanks Chris - I think Steve hit the nail on the head when he said I need to be in the Forum section to see the "post new thread" button. In the last week or two I've been going straight into "What's New" and "New Posts" where this capability is not present.

So thanks to you both for pointing me in the right direction ! You'd think I would have learnt that by now !
