Collecting her tomorrow from the Light Car Company. They've done a great job of replacing synchro hubs and rings (plus other bits) in the gearbox - and they also sorted out the failed alternator pulley shaft that dropped off during my ill-fated test drive a few months ago. I went over to see it all back together yesterday. No test drive because of the awful weather - but it sounded lovely. The cam lobes are 2mm taller than standard - so it's a bit lumpy, but revs nice and freely. I have the straight-through pipes, but opted to have the mufflers on to begin with - to try and keep the neighbours on side (it's so frickin loud otherwise). I've had a road clutch put in for now, instead of the ceramic job - just to make it a bit less snatchy while I get used to things. It's a bit kinder to the transmission as well. Not sure how long it will last though.
The DVLA inspector went yesterday to take pictures of various bits - and seemed happy enough, so I should get a V5 and a reg. number assigned pretty soon. Then, I'll get it out as much as possible before the roads start being salted.
