    Door lock barrels

My Stratos doesn't have any door keys with it and I guess the insurers would prefer that I could lock it. Has anyone used these barrels / keys from Ebay?

    Thanks,
    Justin.

    Re: Door lock barrels

They'll be fine Justin. Correct ends to take the roll pin which should punch out. Has the car got an ignition lock on the column? Whatever there is, best policy is to declare it. I doubt it's the sort of car that's likely to get pinched...

If you've got a pair of levers on the B post for the rear body section the locks can be dismantled and the pins re-ordered for a match to the door key. Any pins that stand around of the barrel can just be carefully filed down.

    Re: Door lock barrels

    Thanks Guy.
I agree - I've never really thought it likely that someone would steal the older cars - too difficult to move on (and to start up).

No ignition on the column - just a battery kill switch by the handbrake, and a pull switch on the dash to energize everything.
There are a pair of levers on the B post, but I don't think they're connected to anything.

    Thanks - Justin.

    Re: Door lock barrels

The only place they'd be connected to are a pair of catches on the inside of the upper chassis rails, a few inches back from the bulkhead. looking at the engine bay pics on the Girardo website the catches (and the centre mounted pivot) are absent so it looks like they've been removed. I assume the battery cut out switch is a Telestac unit mounted behind the battery? Should you want to add a spare to your stocks there's one for sale in the UK here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175778276...Bk9SR6iL_vL0Yg that's being sold by David Hanman who currently owns the Waldegaard Safari car.
