The Italian reg. stayed with the Targa Florio 1974 winning car. It was driven by Raffaele Pinto on the 1975 Monte, and then sold to the Chequered Flag (still with the same Italian reg.)
The car was destroyed in a fire on the Welsh Rally, and the Stratos Enthusiasts Club own part of it.

Thanks Chris. So the 73 munari car and the 74 larousse car were the same chassis/ registration? Can I ask what part of the car the club owns?

Yes, the same reg. at least.
Part of the engine/gearbox casings melted and ran into a big pool on the floor. Yuk Hodgson picked this up and the club bought it off him and made it into a trophy. 'The Chequered Trophy'.
The other CF car was also ex works from the '75 season.

And that trophy sits in a cupboard in my garage, as it's not been awarded for a couple of years at least because no-one seems to have fulfilled the requirements for its presentation lately.....no chance of it being nicked as it's cunningly disguised as an ugly lump of melted crud. You'd never know what it was from if you didn't know!
