    The 'new' Jaguar

Seeing as we all like our cars I feel we could be a group qualified to comment.

What say stratosec about the launch of the new Jaguar branding and the new advert?

I'll be honest Leigh, not seen it, not interested at all, and quite content to form my opinion from contact with a Jaguar employee who thinks it's complete nonsense!

I have only read about it in the press, and think they are trying to give up selling cars!!!!!

    Just found it on YT.

OK, I’m an old fart, but that probably makes me more likely to be a Jaguar buyer than GenZ……but this is just pretentious wonk (spelt that wrong, should have had an A in it).

Car adverts have certainly become more random over the years, featuring actual real cars in real situations less and less, but this is about a brand, not a car….and, well, this tells me literally nothing about their cars.

I fear it looks as though they have dumped all the heritage, which I just don't get.

Apparently in an internal meeting some months ago the design director declared that Jaguar had zero brand capital, which seems like an insane statement to me.

Only time will tell, but if it goes totally t*ts up I for one will not be surprised.

The ad campaign is terrible, obviousley designed to cause a stir, but if the stunt causes anger amongst Jaguars previous customer base and ridicule from the younger generation via social media it seems a very flawed idea. The greater worry for workers (of which i was one a few years back), is the transition to ?100k + electric cars when the market for these types of vehicles appears less attractive to consumers than it did back in 2019/20. Back then Taycans and Tesla's were flying off the shelves and the new French boss of JLR saw what he thought was a great opportunity. Doesnt look a good move now as buyers worry about the huge deprecication and are more hesitant. Very sad.

I am no great fan of Jag's, but you have to respect the heritage & that superb straight 6 engine, I really hope the brand can survive this, as for woke dei nonsense I absolutely hope & pray this is the beginning of a very swift end to all that clap trap.

Who ever put Clem Fandango & Danny Behr in charge (see 'Toast' , Matt Berry) should be taken outside & shot.

... don't even get me started on ev's.
