Pictures sideways

Why on the forum, when I try to post pictures from my phone does half of the pictures always seem to end up sideways. Am I doing something wrong.

It's been covered before Kenny.
I think the consensus was if you edit your photos briefly by resizing them prior to upload it tends to sort the issue out.

Thanks Chris I couldn't find a thread on it, the pictures I put up earlier I done what John said and that worked. I tried last night and half were sideways so I deleted them.

Kenny, it's to do with degrees of longitude. The software expects pictures posted from a location of close to 0 degrees and the further you get from that, the more rotation is put on the picture as it tries to keep it oriented relative to the Greenwich meridian. As you're in Eire, you'll get a twist on your pics. If you resize them on your phone, the software sees it's a mobile device and assumes that you're at 0 degrees and they come out "upright".

Lol not really. But I'll follow your advice and I will hold my phone sideways when I take a picture then it will come out straight on the forum lol.
