    Vernasca Silver Flag

    Hi all.

Over the weekend of the 13th, 14th and 15th of June - we took the Stratos over to Italy for the Vernasca hill climb. (We flew and the car was trailered - even though it sounds nice, I didn't really fancy 1000 miles of it there and back).

There were 8 or 9 other Stratos - possibly the most common car type. It was incredibly hot and we had the usual queuing up to start, and then again to be parked up at the top, but she managed fine. The climb is around 9km - fairly flat and straight with cone chicanes to begin with, then a steep climb with 34 hairpins for the second half. The car felt great and handled really well - we got a small taste of what they were designed to do.

Here's ours with two others. Tree debris was a bit of a problem - the guys next door had the good sense to bring a gazebo:

It was hot up at the top - and it was a relief to switch off the car, get out and find some shade. Personally - I've never before drank so much water without having to go for a pee.

Justin, super photos, and glad the engine maladies are now behind you. The ‘greenhouse’ effect inside a Strato’s in the heat you describe would be horrendous, well done you.

I have been jealously admiring the recent continental trips achieved by SEC members.

Looked a great event and surrounded by the best of Italian cars.

The highlight of my week was the prom run
