Thank you to David Jowsey for carrying his end of the rear panel.

Will this type of fuel hose (early 1990s) be ok with ethanol petrol?

Is this where a balance pipe would go on the 4 into 2 exhaust?

No, those pipes are going to be lethal Chris. Unlikely to be Ethanol proof and the overboard WILL cause a very fine misting of the fuel that leaks under pressure. And that'll end in tears. It might look pretty but swap it out for the correct high pressure hose (irrespective of whether you're putting a high or low pressure supply on the car).

I'd be replacing the fuel hose with teflon lined stuff if I where you.

    Re: Blue Stratos

    Thanks Guy & Leigh,

Maybe they are already teflon lined? 'Looks like Goodridge stuff, but from back in the day.

It seems that the 600 series is PTFE, but I'm not sure if it is that type, and when that product was introduced.
I'll have a look at the invoices that are still with the car.

I've found the invoice, and it is FBA0600 and still available from Think Automotive, from where it was originally purchased.
It is AQP racing hose with an elastomer inner tube.

PTFE hose is needed for E85 to E100. Flex fuel cars need it, although until now, I didn't even know there was such a thing.

I could price the original build cost of this car. The prices of everything from 1990 and just after are amusing.
For example the group 4 Transformer Cars Ltd kit (less lamp pod and roof scoop) was 6178.17 pounds inc. VAT.

    Re: Blue Stratos

That FBA0600 claims to be compatible with ethanol etc so all good by the look of it.

I confess, my instant reaction was the same as Guy - fully expected it to be the usual stuff that looks good but rotted away under cover of stainless....

That said, not sure how you'd prove the lines fitted are the same as the invoice. Put some fuel in and switch on the pump I guess

    Re: Blue Stratos

Peter has had the car running recently.
All the invoiced parts tally with what's fitted.

Yes, I did that with Eric's first 2000 Beta engine.... it flattened out the pop pop pop sound !
