    tyres hitting inner fenders

Does anyone have problem with rear tyres ( early Gr4, Michelin TB 335 ) hitting the inner fenders while crossing bumps?
Can i cut away the edge on the inside of the rear fender? Or do i have to increase my ride hight?

    Regards, PIm

Yes I had the same problem, cured by raising the ride height.
335s are right at the limit of width for the car so it is always going to be tight.
The options are widen/trim the arches or raise the car. It's really dictated by how high the car needs to be.

Yes Pim, the same thing happened to me with the same shaped group 4 rear body, and I cut the return away. You can cut most of it off, but it's best to leave a narrower return (as far as I can remember, and this off the top of my head, it's 40mm down to 15mm). Don't cut all the wheel arch return away.
When I did mine, I left the front return at the full width, but cut the top away more (where the tyre is likely to catch. The fibreglass gets thicker towards the front wall of the boot.

    Hi Pim,

I posted some photos on the old site showing how I cut mine back, I'll see if I can find them tonight.
Think I left a 10mm return and only cut the area that would catch the tyre. I think this improved the clearance for wheel movment from 50mm to about 100mm with my ride height.

    Hi Pim,
i think it's better to use 26/61-15 TB15 (295/40R15) and they are cheaper.
