And here?s the proof!
This was organised by Mirhan Hirvonian this year, two Integrales, a Fulvia Coupe plus my Stratos rep. His 17yo daughter also pitched up in her Citroen 2CV that she passed her test in recently. Obviously she wanted to park near her dad and the rest of us but jobsworth marshall told her she had to go to Citroen area. Where there was one, a Lomax. She said no, she had a "Lancia Support Vehicle" sign on the back of her car. And a Lancia badge stuck over the chevrons on the front. I told the marshall she needed to be where she was parked for her own safety. Marshall said no, and I'll be back.
So she got her 11mm spanner out and before he could get back with re-inforcements she'd got the boot lid, bonnet, both left side doors and the entire interior stripped out and piled up behind the display.
And there everything stayed for the duration. End of the show it was all back together in about 10 minutes. She's doing A levels next year and needs BBB to get into Coventry to study vehicle design.
Haven't giggled so much in quite a while!
And here?s the proof!
Love that story good on her
My main hang-up regarding Southport Pier is that it's a bl**dy long walk to the far end! Fortunately there's a train to take the strain
I actually tried to enter this event but their online system kept telling me there wasn't any room. Doesn't seem to be the case judging by that pic! Then again, it coulda just been an excuse to keep me away....
There was plenty of room Norm! What was an issue was their ability to handle the number of entrants they had. It was worse than the NEC to get in and out of. I won't bother again!
Guy, sorry to highjack the string, but recon it fits in with this? This was my day yesterday at Bridgnorth Italia Automoto Festival.
I was not alone, honest, I was in the street between the half timbered Town Hall and the scaffolding on the left, (right alongside Specksavers, who were doing a roaring trade).
The vast crowds were blocking the view in both directions !! The main street was closed for the day and filled with Italian exotica. As well as the Ferrari's there were Lambo's, Maserati's, Fiats, Alfa's, and various M/c's which included a swarm of Vaspa's. Most High Street shops took advantage of the extra footfall and were open.
I had to wait a while to take the photos without somebody in the way, either on their knees or just standing taking photos.

"Why make it easy when you can struggle"
Is that Carol doing her Stig impersonation behind the car in one of the shots?
Could be, I didn't see her for a long time, so could have been trying to get some attention as I was ignoring her all day, she said.
