Those bearings were bloody awful, no idea why they were that bad especially for a decent brand like SKF.

I was thinking the same thing, so for the replacement one I got it through an skf dealer who ordered it directly from skf Australia, so you'd hope they are legit- maybe Chinese knock-offs?
