Well done Nick. excellent work and worthy of a pint or two!
Just had a look at my build thread and I collected my Lister Bell chassis on 11th March 2015, after what feels like a very quick 2 years I took it to IVA test this morning and it passed
I drove it there and back with no problems, apart from cars and vans on the motorway slowing up as they passed to get a better look at the car, certainly attracts attention!
Now need to complete the DVLA forms and apply for a registration, hopefully wont take too long. Still got a few bits and pieces to finish but should be on the road for Stoneleigh show.
Safely back home
Well done Nick. excellent work and worthy of a pint or two!
Congratulations Nick !!!!
Bravissimo to pass on the first time and no issues at all
The car looks absolute fabulous in this color!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done Nick - look forward to seeing it at Stoneleigh! Hope DVLA paperwork comes through quickly!
Guy
Well done, that man! Very impressed, car looks great. Were there any surprises on the test that you weren't expecting?
Have you kept a log of hours that you've worked on the car?
Look forward to seeing you and the car at Stoneleigh. Why oh why can't my chassis be ready now!
We done indeed..... Need a trip up to Southwell soon !!....cheers Phil
Fantastic looking car and wonderful achievement - well done indeed!
Great job! Looks fantastic.
Thanks all for the positive replies.
No idea how many hours I've spent on the build, probably...many
The biggest pain I've had IVA wise has been emissions. In my build thread I've mentioned this is a phase 3 engine with 4 lambda sensors, originally I was hoping to use just the 2 pre cat sensors but found the lambda reading would drift and not settle to a steady reading. Fitted the secondary lambdas and the reading was steady but still slightly high at 1.04 (actually failed first IVA a couple of weeks back on emissions).
Spoke to an Alfa tuner who advised me to change the MAF, which I did, I also sealed around the silencer end caps with exhaust paste and at the test today the emissions were spot on, lambda was 1.007
Everything else was absolutely fine, which is a testament to the quality of the kit.
Cheers all, think I should be able to get it registered for Stoneleigh, I'm sure even DVLA should be able to process the paperwork in 8 weeks!
Now time for a couple of celebratory beers!
Well done.
