Thanks Chris, I hadn't noticed the ad myself. I've bought the car as the donor for my LB, just been down to Yeovil to pick it up today.
Yes it's very rusty underneath but I don't care - I'll be ditching the body, and the engine and box have only done 76k miles and are in great condition.
And I knew if the engine died on the way home, at least the rusty floor would give me the Fred Flinststone option.
Jon - good luck with the build - and hope you havent too much longer to wait for your kit. I'm nearing the end of my build (5 years surprisingly !) but it's good to see someone else down here in the South. It seems you know what you are doing mechanically but if there is anything I can help with let me know. I'm in Arundel.

Thanks Peter. I only paid my deposit last May, so at least a year to wait for the kit, I guess. But at least that gives me time to enlarge the garage and get that engine and box freshened up a bit. And for the next 3 months I can enjoy the music of the Busso (my first experience of it) before the MOT runs out.
I'm pleased it appears that I know what I'm doing mechanically, but actually I'm not sure I know what the hell I'm doing! I've already learnt a lot from reading your build blog, and various others on the forum, for which I'm already very grateful, and no doubt I'll be making extensive use of everyone's experiences and advice when I get stuck into the build for real.
It does seem that there are far more LB builds and cars somewhat north of Watford, shall we say, then down here in the south. So it's nice to find someone not too far away from me (I'm in Kingswood, near Reigate). Thanks for your offer, I'm sure I will be in touch about something or other soon.

Oh, yes, I guess I should have been able to work out you meant it that way round. I can't get used to this idea of buying a car 'the wrong way round' where rustier is better!
Thanks again for posting the link to the advert though, I definitely would have missed the chance to buy this one without it.
Looks like a Ferrari engine could be cheaper than a GTA!

Not much chance of that! The Ferrari engine has 2 many cylinders... Dino motors are very expensive these days!
There's more and more Giulia engines appearing for sale.

Look a bit big though?

Suitablity for a Stratos? Giulia is rear wheel drive so we'd need to source a gearbox. It also looks like quite a wide angle? And it's twin turbo'd so needs intercoolers etc. Bet the wiring would be a bitch too! Then there's the issue of 500bhp plus and keeping the car on the island. Not for me sir!
